2023 Awards Forms:

Each year NCBEA accepts nominations for outstanding individuals in the following award categories.

Nomination Deadline March 1, 2023

Application Deadline March 15, 2023

The deadline to make a nomination is March 1, 2023.  Use Google form below to submit your nomination. Members can nominate multiple nominees by submitting different forms for each nominee. NCBEA recommends consulting with the nominees BEFORE you submit the form to gather needed information and to ensure they would be willing to submit the application and attend the NBEA Convention in April 2023 to receive their award. Nominees will have until  March 15, 2023 to submit their application packets to tblackbentz@gmail.com

Award Categories:

  • Emerging Professional The nominee must be primarily engaged in teaching business at the K-12 level. The nominee must have taught for five or less years. If the nominee has dual responsibilities, at least 50 percent of those responsibilities at the major employing institution must be in teaching. The nominee must be a current member of NBEA both at the time nominated and at the time receiving the award. Award winners must be registered and be present at the convention to accept the award. Credentials of candidates not receiving a 2020 award shall be retained for consideration for the following year. Nominees must continue to meet eligibility requirements.
  • Distinguished Service Award for Outstanding Contribution to Business Education by an Administrator or Supervisor of Business Education The nominee must be primarily engaged in the administration or supervision of a business education program. If the nominee has dual responsibilities, at least 50 percent of those responsibilities must be in an administrative/supervisory function at the major employing institution. The nominee must be a current member of NBEA both at the time nominated and at the time receiving the award. In order to be considered for the NBEA Award, the nominee must be a current member of NBEA and have been a member for a minimum of three (3) years. Award winners must be registered and be present at the convention to accept the award. Nominees must continue to meet eligibility requirements. Retired teachers are eligible for NCBEA Awards but will not be eligible for NBEA Awards
  • Collegiate/University Teacher of the Year AwardThe nominee must be primarily engaged in teaching business at the collegiate/university level (including business teacher education). If the nominee has dual responsibilities, at least 50 percent of those responsibilities at the major employing institution must be in teaching. The nominee’s contributions may have been made over an extended period of time, but the major impact must have occurred within three (3) years prior to the nomination. The nominee must be a current member of NBEA both at the time nominated and at the time receiving the award. In order to be considered for the NBEA Award, the nominee must be a current member of NBEA and have been a member for a minimum of three (3) years. Nominees must continue to meet eligibility requirements. Retired teachers are eligible for NCBEA Awards but will not be eligible for NBEA Awards
  • Post Secondary Teacher of the Year Award The nominee must be primarily engaged in teaching business at the postsecondary school level. If the nominee has dual responsibilities, at least 50 percent of those responsibilities at the major employing institution must be in teaching. The nominee’s contributions may have been made over an extended period of time, but the major impact must have occurred within three (3) years prior to the nomination. The nominee must be a current member of NBEA both at the time nominated and at the time receiving the award. In order to be considered for the NBEA Award, the nominee must be a current member of NBEA and have been a member for a minimum of three (3) years. Nominees must continue to meet eligibility requirements. Retired teachers are eligible for NCBEA Awards but will not be eligible for NBEA Awards
  • Middle School Teacher of the Year Award The nominee must be primarily engaged in teaching business at the middle school level. If the nominee has dual responsibilities, at least 50 percent of those responsibilities at the major employing institution must be in teaching. The nominee’s contributions may have been made over an extended period of time, but the major impact must have occurred within three (3) years prior to the nomination. The nominee must be a current member of NBEA both at the time nominated and at the time receiving the award. In order to be considered for the NBEA Award, the nominee must be a current member of NBEA and have been a member for a minimum of three (3) years. Nominees must continue to meet eligibility requirements. Retired teachers are eligible for NCBEA Awards but will not be eligible for NBEA Awards.
  • Secondary Business Teacher of the Year Award The nominee must be primarily engaged in teaching business at the secondary school level. If the nominee has dual responsibilities, at least 50 percent of those responsibilities at the major employing institution must be in teaching. The nominee’s contributions may have been made over an extended period of time, but the major impact must have occurred within three (3) years prior to the nomination. The nominee must be a current member of NBEA both at the time nominated and at the time receiving the award. In order to be considered for the NBEA Award, the nominee must be a current member of NBEA and have been a member for a minimum of three (3) years. Nominees must continue to meet eligibility requirements. Retired teachers are eligible for NCBEA Awards but will not be eligible for NBEA Awards..
